Lily’s Unfinished House

Lily had been building for a while.

Not a house made of bricks, but a life.

She had plans carefully drawn in her heart—
places she wanted to go,
things she wanted to build,
the person she believed she was becoming.

January had arrived with excitement.

She wrote the goals. Made the plans.
Prayed the prayers. Started the work.

But somewhere between January and September, life happened.

Some doors did not open.

Some plans took longer than expected.

Some people she thought would build with her quietly walked away.

There were days when she felt unstoppable
and others when simply continuing felt like an achievement.

One September morning, Lily opened the notebook in which she had written her goals at the beginning of the year.

She stared at the list.

Some boxes were ticked.

Many were not.

For a moment, she felt disappointed.

I should be further ahead by now.

Then she looked again.

This time, she noticed something she had missed.

Beside the goals that remained unfinished
was a person who was no longer the same.

She had grown.

She had learnt.

She had become wiser.

She had survived things she never planned for.

She had developed strength she did not possess in January.

And Lily realised something:

Perhaps progress is not only measured by what you have completed.
Sometimes, but also by who you have become while building.

She picked up her pen.

Underneath her long list of goals, she wrote just two words:

PRESS ON.

And she began again.

PRESSING ON

September is here.

The year has travelled far,
but it is not finished.

The pages have turned,
the seasons have shifted,
some plans have flourished,
others still wait quietly
for your attention.

And perhaps you are looking at the distance
between where you thought you would be
and where you are now.

Do not despise the distance.

Look again.

You are still here.

Still learning.
Still becoming.
Still building.

Press on.

Not because everything has worked.

Not because every door opened.

Not because the journey has been easy.

Press on because purpose
is rarely built in a day.

Great lives are built
brick by brick,
decision by decision,
prayer by prayer,
day by day.

Build

Build when nobody applauds.

Build when the beginning looks small.

Build when the vision in your heart
is bigger than the evidence in your hands.

Build your character.

Build your knowledge.

Build your discipline.

Build your relationships.

Build your capacity.

Build your faith.

Build the habits
that can carry the future
you keep praying for.

Because sometimes
we ask God for bigger opportunities
when what we really need
is greater capacity.

So build.

Quietly if necessary.

Slowly if necessary.

But intentionally.

Keep building.

Grow

Growth does not always announce itself.

Sometimes it looks like
saying no where you once said yes.

Sometimes it looks like
walking away from distractions.

Sometimes it looks like
trying again after disappointment.

Sometimes it is reading one more page,
learning one more skill,
sending one more application,
making one more attempt.

Sometimes growth is invisible
until life demands
the strength you have quietly developed.

So do not underestimate
what is happening beneath the surface.

Roots grow before fruits appear.

Depth comes before height.

Preparation often comes
before visibility.

Keep growing.

Focus

There will always be noise.

Someone will always seem ahead.

Someone will achieve at twenty
what another achieves at forty.

Someone’s announcement
will make you question your progress.

Someone’s highlight
will tempt you to abandon your journey.

But comparison is expensive.

It costs focus.

And focus is too valuable
to spend watching someone else’s race.

Your assignment requires your attention.

Your purpose requires your energy.

Your future requires
your presence in today.

Look forward.

Look upward.

Then return to the work
God has placed before you.

You do not need to do everything.

You need to become faithful
with your thing.

Stay focused.

Press On

When the excitement disappears—

Press on.

When progress feels painfully slow—

Press on.

When nobody seems to notice—

Press on.

When the plan needs changing—

Press on.

When you have to start again—

Press on.

When yesterday did not go as planned—

Press on.

Not recklessly.

Not anxiously.

Not desperately.

But deliberately.

Prayerfully.

Purposefully.

One faithful step
after another.

September whispers:

There is still time.

Time to learn.

Time to build.

Time to grow.

Time to repair.

Time to refocus.

Time to begin what you postponed.

Time to return to what you abandoned.

Time to become more disciplined
about what matters.

Do not spend the remaining months
mourning the months already gone.

You cannot rewrite January.

But you can decide
what September will produce.

Do Not Confuse Slow with Stagnant

A seed beneath the soil
may look like nothing is happening.

But something is happening.

Roots are stretching.

Foundations are forming.

Life is preparing
for visibility.

Perhaps this season
is not your harvest yet.

Perhaps it is your rooting season.

Your learning season.

Your building season.

Your becoming season.

Do not dig up the seed
because it has not become a tree overnight.

Water it.

Protect it.

Give it light.

Give it time.

And press on.

Finish Strong

You do not need
a perfect year
to have a powerful ending.

You do not need
to achieve every goal
to become a better person.

You do not need
to know every step
before taking the next one.

You only need the courage
to keep moving
in the direction of purpose.

So take another look
at the dreams you carried
into this year.

Which one still matters?

What needs your attention?

What needs discipline?

What needs prayer?

What needs courage?

And what simply needs you
to stop talking about it
and start building?

September is calling.

Pick up your tools.

Return to the vision.

Clear the distractions.

Strengthen your foundations.

Learn.

Build.

Pray.

Focus.

Grow.

And when the journey feels long,
remember Lily’s two words:

PRESS ON.

Not because you have arrived.

But because you are becoming.

Not because everything is perfect.

But because purpose is still calling.

Not because the road is easy.

But because the destination is worth
another faithful step.

And perhaps months from now,
you will look back at this September
and realise:

This was the month
I stopped measuring how far I had left to go
and started thanking God
for how far I had come.

This was the month
I found my focus again.

This was the month
I started building again.

This was the month
I decided—

I will press on.

This September, we encourage you to grow intentionally, build consistently, focus deliberately and press forward purposefully.

Your journey is still unfolding.

Your story is still being written.

Your potential is still being developed.

And by God’s grace,
there is still more ahead.

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
